About Me

Using gouache, colored pencil, and digital media, I create fantasy illustrations that embody narratives through world-building and character design.
Fantasy stories are powerful tools for exploring possibilities, reckoning with reality, and understanding our inner selves. Through evocative color palettes and immersive compositions, I aim to transport viewers to imaginative realms and invite them to complete the story. Although my work is influenced by history and Neo-Medievalist aesthetics, I believe fantasy storytelling can both examine the present and look toward the future. My narratives prioritize a closeness to the natural world and center flawed characters rather than mythic paragons.
While my style shifts to accommodate the story being told, I am always interested in the transportive effects of luminous color and organic textures. In my digital work, I emulate brushstrokes and graphite lines to maintain a hand-crafted look, while in traditional media I layer colored pencil over swaths of paint. Just as a written story transcends paper and ink in a reader’s mind, illustrations can take on a life of their own. My goal is to produce illustrations that enhance narratives and tell self-contained stories, unrestrained by the bounds of page or screen.
I am currently studying illustration and creative writing at SUNY Oswego. My artwork and writing have been published in The Great Lake Review and Subnivean.
